Most of us have seen cancer impact our lives and families in some way, but you are never quite prepared to hear that diagnosis for someone you love. The news really shook our family when my sister, Rupal Patel diagnosed in 2023 with Uterine sarcoma which was metastasised in lungs and spine. In September 2023, in memory of Rupal Patel, I rode 216 miles cycle and able to raise $3766 with your help for children’s cancer research to provide critical funding to the best and brightest research investigators! I understood the fear and uncertainty that so many families face in those moments. A lung cancer diagnosis can be even more shocking when my best friend Renuka was diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer in 2024, she is EGFR positive and having her targeted therapy since last one year. Her dieses is totally under controlled, however, she must continue this costliest therapy for few more years. This September 2025, I will be riding to continue to increase funding to support not only Renuka’s fight to combat her disease but also to support kids’ cancer treatment. Riding cycle for fund raising is my way to motivate myself to support cancer affected patients and their families morally so as they stay positive and fight the battle.
