My Story
This September, I'm taking on something I've never done before.
I've signed up for the 2026 Great Cycle Challenge to help fight childhood cancer, and I've committed to riding 250 miles in honor of America's 250th birthday.
Here's the funny part... I'm not a cyclist.
In fact, this is my very first cycling challenge, and I'll be tackling all 250 miles on a beach cruiser. There won't be fancy gear or a lightweight racing bike—just determination, a lot of pedaling, and a heart for a cause that matters.
Why?
Because children shouldn't have to fight for their lives.
Cancer is the leading disease-related cause of death among children in the United States. Every week, 38 children lose their battle with this terrible disease. While my legs may get tired and my body may ache over the next 250 miles, it's nothing compared to the courage these children and their families show every single day.
Kids should be riding bikes, playing outside, laughing with friends, and dreaming about the future—not spending their childhood in hospitals fighting cancer.
That's why I'm riding.
Every mile I pedal is for a child who can't. Every donation is a step closer to better treatments, more hope, and ultimately a cure.
All funds raised go directly to the Children's Cancer Research Fund, helping researchers develop innovative treatments and improve the lives of children battling cancer.
If you can, please consider making a donation. Whether it's $10, $25, $50, or whatever you're able to give, every gift makes a difference.
Please help me turn 250 miles into hope.
Thank you for believing in this mission and for standing with these incredible kids and their families.
With gratitude,
Bill
