This September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week. Kid's should be living life, NOT fighting for it!

My name is Nicole Paiva and my husband Nickolas Paiva and I are team Rising for Rogan. We are riding for our son who passed after a 10 month battle with AT/RT brain cancer in March of 2022. Rogan was born healthy and strong on October 5th, 2020. He was always smiling and had a larger than life personality. The summer of 2021 before Rogan started high dose chemotherapy our family invested in a burley to attach to our bikes so we could cycle together. We love the outdoors and cycling! We put our daughter Nora who is now 9 and Rogan in it together and we would ride the East Bay Bike path in Rhode Island. Together they were so happy in the burley and we were able to make some really beautiful memories together cycling.

This Great Cycle Challange is so meaningful to us because we get to help honor children who have passed, support children fighting now and create a better future for children yet to be diagnosed. We will forever carry his spirit and light and continue to ride in his honor as long as we are physically able.
