• 9/16/26 Paulinskill Trail
    16 Sep 2026

11.4 miles on the Paulinskil Trail today. Brugler Rd to Lambert Rd and back brings me to 87 miles total this month. 167 to go to reach my challenge target of 250 in September. The bicycle tour next week on the GAP trail from Pittsburgh PA to Cumberland MD will add 150 miles. Yeah I’m sure I will get all the miles needed this month.

Today is 80F and sunny. Evidence of More tree work and trail clearing between Vail & Lambert. Trail closed Lambert to Foot Bridge park again. :( The portion in Knowlton twp between Vail Rd & Brugler still overgrown single track. This is a picture of the Brugler bridge.

  • 9/10/26 A new (to me) part of the Paulinskill trail
    10 Sep 2026

A seriously slow & muddy 9.8 miles on the Paulinskill trail today starting from Foot Bridge Park in Blairstown and heading north. Almost made it to the Stillwater rd crossing, but turned back because there was a huge muddy section which I did not want to deal with. Which is saying something considering some of the mud I’d already ridden through! There was even a section with a stream crossing back & forth across it , which was fine ‘cause it was very shallow. There were substantial stretches of the trail that were lovely. Temp was 86F and fairly humid. Met some very nice dogs walking with their humans, but no other cyclists. The bike & I both needed a good wash when we got home!

  • 9/7/26 Labor Day Ride
    7 Sep 2026

Achieved 25% of my mileage ride goal of 250 miles this month today with a 22 mile ride on the Columbia Trail from High Bridge to (almost) Long Valley. For Monday Labor Day afternoon I had expected the trail to really be busy but it wasn’t much different from a normal week day. There were 3 trees down across the trail, One I was able to manage myself, the other required assistance and the 3rd had me just turn around and head back rather than deal with it. Weather was absolutely phenomenal.

Reminder that this Wednesday, Sept 9th is the Great Cycle Challenge Match Day, when all online donations received (up to 1.4M) are matched. It’s a Great Cycle Challenge USA way to make your $$ go further! Just go to my donation page at (greatcyclechallenge.com/riders/pameladulaff) Every dollar counts.

  • 9/3/26 - 9.3 miles on Paulinskil
    3 Sep 2026

Station Rd to Lambert Rd which was a shorter ride than I’d planned on today as the Paulinskill trail was closed just off Lambert Rd going towards Footbridge Park. So only 9.3 miles under the wheels. Another very humid day with some very muddy spots interspersed between slippery single track trail. 218 miles to go.

  • 1st ride of the Great Cycle Challenge 2026- Columbia Trail
    1 Sep 2026

First day of the 2026 Great Cycle Challenge and I completed 23 miles on the Columbia Trail. The Trail was in excellent condition especially considering the past several days of rain. It was hot (84F) & humid(real feel 97F), but on the bike along the shady trail it was actually quite pleasant. Got back home just ahead of another thunderstorm. Whew!

If you’d like to help sponsor my challenge to raise $2500 this month to help Children’s Cancer Research, please go to: https://GreatCycleChallenge.com/Riders/PamelaDulaff.

  • 8/8/26- Hot, Humid & muddy
    9 Aug 2026

17 miles today on the Paulinskill trail from Newton’s Warbasse Junction trail head to the picnic area by Paulinskill Lake and back. Most of the trail was in excellent condition, but no surprise after all the heavy rains this past week that there were sections that were extremely muddy. I enjoyed sharing lunch with Paul & Ron, my two riding friends today.

  • Pine Creek Rail Trail with Pocono Biking
    1 Jul 2026

June 28 -30, 2026 65 miles from Wellsboro PA to Jersey Shore PA across 2 days with Pocono Biking through an area called the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon. It was visually stunning to ride along the clear river at the base of the tree covered “canyon” walls. What a fabulous trail! So well maintained, shaded for most of it and with comfort stations frequently along the way.

There were a dozen of us on this van supported tour with 3 leaders. We stayed at the Hotel Manor in Slate Run which is “half” way along the trail. The first day of riding starting from Wellsboro back to Slate Run was just under 40 miles, the second day was almost 30 miles riding from Slate Run back to Jersey Shore where we’d left our cars. We were lucky with the weather which was sunny and about 80F. I didn’t see any rattle snakes or black bears (which are apparently common along the trail) but did see a bald eagle, several deer and a turtle. Oh and 2 covered wagons each pulled by 2 Clydesdales.
